S.S. Providence
Title: S.S. Providence

Fall River Line steamer PROVIDENCE, built at Fore River Shipyard in Quincy, Mass. in 1905. She operated until the Line closed downin 1937. Initially she ran from New York to Providence in the summer and from New York to Fall River in the winter months. In the 1920s she was part of the double service (two boats each way) to Fall River in summer. Later her summer runs were to New Bedford.
